STEM Trainer

Junior Coderz

Mar 2025 - Present1 yr 5 mos

As a STEM Trainer at Junior Coderz, I’ve had the opportunity to turn coding from something that can feel intimidating into something students genuinely enjoy creating with. I work with students aged 6–16, teaching them everything from beginner-friendly block coding to text-based programming and more advanced development concepts. My role goes beyond simply teaching students how to write code. I focus on helping them understand how to think like a problem-solver, experiment with ideas, debug their mistakes, and build projects they can actually be proud of. Whether a student is creating their first Scratch game or working on a Python project, my goal is to make the learning process interactive, creative, and practical. I have experience teaching: - Block-based programming using visual coding platforms - Text-based programming, particularly Python - Game development and game logic - Web development and website creation - App development and UI-based projects - 3D modeling and creative digital design - Computational thinking and problem-solving - Programming fundamentals, variables, conditions, loops, functions, and logic - Project-based learning and independent experimentation One of the most rewarding parts of my role is helping students move from “I don’t know how to code” to “Wait, I actually made this!” That transition is what makes teaching STEM so exciting for me. Teaching students between 6 and 16 means there is definitely no “one-size-fits-all” approach. A concept that takes five minutes for one student might take several different examples for another. I adapt my teaching style according to the student's age, existing knowledge, learning pace, interests, and confidence level. For younger students, I often use visual explanations, games, storytelling, and interactive activities to make programming easier to understand. With older students, I can introduce more structured programming concepts. Curiosity is what I aim to build!
