A WordPress site icon (aka favicon) is a unique icon (not a logo) associated with your site. It's displayed in the URL bar, on tabs, as a bookmark or home screen app icon when saved to a browser or phone, and anywhere else your site has to be identified visually.
This will make your site look more professional and it will increase your brand awareness.
I will create a simple (see gig gallery) WordPress site icon using your pre-made logo, or 1-2 letters, or a pre-made icon on a colored/transparent background. I won't design it from scratch or perform modifications to it.
WordPress requires a 512x512 size, but in most cases, very small sizes of the site icon will be used (e.g. 16x16).
So, you need something that will be clear enough to see/understand at very small sizes. Thus, 1-2 letters or a simple icon is ideal. Text or complex images will not be clear enough.

Is this gig about logo design? Do you design logos?
No, this gig doesn't offer logo designs. Site icons (favicons) are a different thing.
How can I provide a font?
You can either provide the files (.otf, .ttf) or a download link that doesn't require account creation or payment.
Where can I get a font if I don't have one?
Check out dafont.com. Choose a font type, click on 'More options', select '100% Free', then click Submit to apply the filter. Not all of them are copyright-free. Send me the link to it in the gig requirements.
What type of graphics/files do I need to provide?
The graphics or your logo file should be a PNG file with a transparent background. The graphics should be big enough to fill a 512x512 px (pixels) square, or even bigger. I can make it smaller, but not bigger because it will get blurry.
Do you design the site icons from scratch?
No, I only use pre-made icons and fonts, or your logo's graphics if it's big enough and on a PNG file with a transparent background.
Can you use my logo's graphics as a site icon?
Yes, if the graphics are big enough to fit a 512x512 image, and it's on a transparent background in a PNG file. Other file extensions (e.g. JPG) could work, too, but I have to check it first.
