I am a successfully published, best-selling author, with multiple Kirkus-starred reviews, and over 25 years editorial experience, helping other creatives finesse their creative output.
Based on my extensive international publishing success and experience, I will read your work with an expert eye for what works, what could be improved, and questions that I was left with after reading your work.
I will provide a constructive, discerning reader report, with my overall assessment on:
- Readability: here I address the flow of the story, points that dragged or were rushed, points where there was any confusion.
- Emotional impact and reader engagement: here I address how effectively the story and characters resonate for the reader, and general enjoyability.
My report will also include specific feedback on:
- Writing style
- Plot and any obvious plot holes/inconsistencies
- Characters and character arcs

My work lies somewhere between the word count bands in your packages. Will you still charge the full amount?
If the word count of your piece lies somewhere between the word count bands, send me a message with the exact word count, and I'll reply with a Custom Offer to save you money.
Do you accept longer works of fiction?
Absolutely. Provide me with the exact word count and I’ll be pleased to provide a Custom Offer.
What type of file do you require?
I can work with either a Word or PDF file. Unfortunately, I’m unable to work with cloud-sharing platforms such as Google Docs.
Do you require "trigger warnings" if my work includes violence, profanity and so on?
This is not necessary at all.
Can I send you my creative work chapter by chapter?
Unfortunately, I don’t accept chapters delivered one at a time. I find that, in order to provide the best feedback, I require the entirety of the work to properly appreciate the piece, and to be able to provide a full and comprehensive assessment.
If I make revisions to my work while you're reviewing it, can I send you a revised copy?
Unfortunately not. Once I have started reading your work, I’m committed to providing discerning feedback on the work in hand. After I provide you with the reader report, you can always revise your manuscript, and I’ll be pleased to re-read it as a new order.
If I revise work that you have already read, will you read it (as a new order)?
I’d be delighted to. I fully understand that works in progress go through multiple rounds of revisions. I’m happy to receive a new order to re-review a revised piece I’ve previously read.
What can I expect when you deliver the critique of my work?
My Beta Reader Reports vary in length depending on the complexity of the work and how much support I need to provide. As a minimum, my Beta Reader reports are 5+ pages. Each report will also provide examples of good writing for your genre, applied to the specifics of your writing material.
Do you use AI?
I do not use AI in any way. I am the only person reading your work and writing the reader report. My expertise and experience is what you are paying for. And that is what you will get!
What's your process in reading my work and preparing your report?
Depending on the length of your work, I will aim to read your piece in one (or more) sittings over consecutive days, compiling comments and reactions as I go. After reading, I spend several hours reviewing my comments and preparing the reader report. I usually work on one project at a time.
