Genre: ambient Game type: adventure/puzzle/dialogue-based/immersive-sim What the tracks represent: each track represents a different level or zone of the world (named The Lake in my case). How did I compose my tracks: I always started with the textural layer, which would then lead to composing the chord progression/melody second, and then all more percussive and/or supporting musical elements. For this project commissioned by ZiggyNova, my goal was to craft sonic environments that support the different physical locations and eras in which the show would take place. From the intricate mechanical, industrial, and sci-fi textures in the opening hangar sequence to the expansive, atmospheric soundscapes of the Egyptian desert and Mars, or the more realistic ambiences of the Moulin Rouge and the circus fair, I focused on building a hybrid of organic and synthetic sounds to ground each unique setting.
