will the AI make up answers that aren't actually in my documents?
no, thats the whole point of building it as RAG instead of just wiring up chatgpt directly. the AI only answers using pieces it actually retrieved from your documents, and every answer comes with the source attached. if the answer isnt in your docs, it says so instead of guessing.
Is this built with no code tools like chatbase or voiceflow, or is it custom code?
fully custom. python backend, a real vector database, proper retrieval logic. no code tools work fine for simple faq bots, but they get shaky once you have a lot of documents or need accurate, cited answers, which is usually why people come looking for something like this instead.
what file types can you work with?
pdfs, word docs, plain text, markdown, csvs and website content are all fine. if your documents have a lot of tables or scanned pages, mention that before ordering, it just needs a bit of extra handling to keep the answers accurate.
do i need to send you my data before ordering?
not before, just after. once you order i will send a short set of questions about your documents and what people usually ask, then you share the files and we start.
is my data kept private?
yes. i have already built systems where each client's data is fully separated from every other client's, so keeping your documents isolated is a normal part of how i build these, not an afterthought.
will there be extra costs after delivery, like API fees?
Yes, one thing worth planning for. these systems run on an AI model behind the scenes, which charges based on usage, separate from what you pay me here. i will tell you the expected monthly cost upfront based on how much your team will actually use it.
can this connect to my existing website or app?
yes, you get it as an api, so it can plug straight into your existing site or app. it doesnt have to be a separate standalone chatbot.
do i get the source code?
yes, fully yours, documented, not locked behind a platform you have to keep paying to access.
what if my project doesn't fit neatly into the three packages?
message me before ordering with what you need. most custom projects just need a slightly adjusted scope, i will send a fair quote for it instead of making you pick a package that doesnt really fit.
