FAQ
What is a staging site, and why do I need one?
A staging site is a private copy of your live website used for testing. It lets you try out plugin updates, theme changes, or new features without any risk of breaking your live site or affecting your visitors.
What do you need from me to get started?
I'll need access to your hosting account (cPanel, WP Engine, Kinsta, SiteGround, etc.) or WordPress admin dashboard, depending on which staging method your host supports.
Will the staging site be an exact copy of my live site?
Yes. The staging site will include all your content, media, plugins, themes, and settings, exactly as they are on your live site.
Will my live website be affected during this process?
No. Your live site stays fully untouched and online throughout the setup. The staging site is created as a separate, isolated copy.
Where will the staging site be hosted?
Depending on your hosting provider, it can be set up as a subdomain (e.g., staging.yoursite.com), through a built-in staging tool (like WP Engine or Kinsta), or via a staging plugin. I'll recommend the best option based on your host.
