Internship Experience: Flux Motors Rohan Kumar Arya | B.Des Animation & Gaming | Graphic Era Hill University During my internship at Flux Motors, a leader in innovative automotive design, I served as a 3D Modeling Artist. This role challenged me to bridge the gap between creative artistry and industrial precision, focusing on high-fidelity assets for go-karts and ATV quad bikes. Core Responsibilities 3D Modeling in Blender: I developed detailed vehicle components, including chassis elements, wheels, and steering systems. As blueprints were restricted for security, I relied on reference-based modeling, using structural logic and spatial estimation to ensure accuracy. Modular Asset Creation: I designed parts as modular components, ensuring they could be seamlessly integrated into larger assemblies by the Flux Motors engineering team. Topology & UV Mapping: I managed clean surface topology and UV unwrapping, preparing assets for high-quality livery application and texture painting. Optimization: Balanced poly-counts to ensure models were optimized for real-time rendering without sacrificing visual fidelity. Collaborative Workflow: Participated in design reviews, integrating feedback from texturing artists and supervisors to maintain a unified brand aesthetic. Key Learning Outcomes This experience sharpened my hard-surface modeling skills and taught me to work effectively within a professional production pipeline. I learned to navigate technical constraints—such as the absence of blueprints—by using intensive research and observation to maintain realism. Beyond technical growth, the internship highlighted the importance of adaptability and communication in a fast-paced studio environment. I am now better equipped to handle real-world projects in game asset design and digital automotive visualization.
