Seventeen years building production backends, the last seven in Node.js and TypeScript on AWS and Cloudflare Workers. Ex-MongoDB Inc Consulting Engineer. Most of my work now is one story. Diagnosed and rewrote MongoDB queries running 5 to 10 seconds down to milliseconds, then trained the team to diagnose the same class of problem themselves. Contained an overnight SMS cost attack on the login and OTP endpoints by applying rate limiting to the existing device-fingerprinting signal, with no impact on legitimate users. Cut technical onboarding from three days to about thirty minutes using dev containers on the existing container deployment.
