Looking for a professional book editor?
I have over a decade of experience in the publishing industry, both as an editor and a published author. My expertise lies in romance, fantasy, science fiction, mystery, thriller, and juvenile fiction, but I have experience in many more genres and am open to editing any kind of novel you throw my way.
In this copy editing service, I'll go through your book and edit for grammatical errors, as well as for flow, structure, and readability. This includes tweaking sentences when needed and swapping words for clarity, delivering a polished novel. I use Microsoft Word track changes so you can see every change I make and choose whether to accept or reject them.
I also offer sample edits.
Shoot me a message, and let's chat about your project! :)

FAQ
Does this include content editing and plot suggestions?
No, this is simply proofreading and copy editing, although if I see any glaring plot holes, I'll definitely leave a comment with a suggestion. :) I can also tack on what I call a "light content edit" for an extra fee. This will include minor plot suggestions and comments.
Does this include formatting?
No. While I might reformat small things on a case by case basis for consistency (indents, removing double spaces), I am not a formatter. It will be in the same format upon receipt that you originally sent it to me in.
Does this include ghostwriting?
No. None of my services offer or include ghostwriting. While I might reword and restructure sentences at a detailed level in my copy editing service, I will not be writing anything extra.
Will you recommend my work to agents and publishers?
While I have connections in the industry, I unfortunately cannot use those to recommend every client that I work with. I’d be happy to work with you in identifying a list of agents and publishers who you can query yourself. I also offer query letter critiques that will help you stand out!
Will be book my 100% error-free at the end?
Please note that, while I am a professional editor, there is always room for error. It is not uncommon to find a few missed mistakes after a pass from any editor.

Overall happy with what I received - a couple of teeny tiny small observations in regards to a couple of questions that were asked and were the answers where in the writing. Food for thought was taking what I though was YA into adult contemporary fiction, which made me stop and think. This has always to me been a YA genre. Would work with Pauline again

Colaboración continuaExcellent work. Polly has an amazing talent for spotting mistakes and offering suggestions and insightful comments. She's very efficient, well-organized, and thorough. She has already copyedited about 20.000 words for my novel, and since she has done such a wonderful job, I'm hiring her to complete the rest of it.
