I was responsible for making sure all computer systems and technology in the office worked properly every day. My main goal was to help staff do their jobs without technical problems slowing them down. I set up computers, printers, and office software for new and existing employees. I also set up new computers for employees, connected them to the network, and helped staff with network-related issues when they needed support. Security was a big part of my role. I protected the network from viruses, hackers, and unauthorized access by configuring firewalls, updating systems, and monitoring network activity. I regularly applied updates and patches to keep everything safe and stable. I handled backups and made sure important company data could be recovered if something went wrong. I also monitored the network daily to catch problems early before they affected users. In addition, I worked with vendors and internet service providers when there were outages or hardware replacements. I documented network setups and changes so the system was easy to understand and maintain. Overall, my job was to make sure the network was reliable, secure, and invisible — if people weren’t complaining, I was doing my job right.
