**Please message me with your questions before placing an order️**
Please state a clear question you wish to answer including subjects name, dates and location. I will provide as much of the following information for US research that is available during the gigs allotted time. This may include*, but is not limited to:
- Birth, marriage, death records
- Names of parents, children, siblings, and/or spouse(s)
- Occupation
- Newspapers
- Immigration and/or passenger records
- Draft Cards
*Note - not all records are available online, some archives must be contacted directly for records
I accept custom orders. Some requests have included: creating family trees (going as far back as I can in the alloted time). Translating printed text, making family charts, organizing loose notes into a workable online tree. Tracking down a book or newspaper. Took a DNA test? I can help understand how those matches connect. I'm pretty flexible.
This page is for US records requests, but if you are looking outside the US, please contact me as to which counties I have knowledge in for best research results.
Due to privacy laws, I do not do Next of Kin, Heir or living research.
FAQ
⚠️Why must I message my request first before placing an order?
Not all records are online. With a quick search, I can see if the record even exists. If it doesn't, I don't want you to place an order for something I can't fulfill. There are some research subjects I would not be a good fit for like slavery or military research. Honesty is important to me.
Do you...and custom gigs?
Got a question and you're not sure if I can assist, please message me, it's free! While I love a challenge, I believe in transparency. I will be honest if it is an area of research I am not qualified for or I might surprise you with a Danish translation you didn't think to ask about. Message away!
⚠️Will you refund me if you can't: find a record or person, solve my brick wall...?
Sorry, no. While a great amount of information is online, not all records are. I will do my utmost to find what you are looking for, but like a paid library search, sometimes a record just can't be found but the researcher still spent the time looking for it.
Do you research Ireland, Germany, Russia... records?
Maybe. This gig is for online US record research. Genealogist tend to specialize in different areas, countries, and/or record collections. I specialize in Mid-West, Norwegian and Danish research - gigs available on seperate pages. For other countries, please connect me for best results.
Do you do next kin or Heir research?
No. Due to privacy laws, I do not accept requests to research the living.
Do you do Slave or Native American Research?
No, I am currently not accepting requests for slave or Native American research. It is a specialized area of research that I feel I don't have enough knowledge about. There are other specialist in that field who can better assist you.
Can you help me with my immigrant ancestors?
Maybe - I specialize in Norwegian and Danish research so if your ancestors came from there then probably yes, depending on how much is known about them in America. There are other researchers who specialize in German, Africa or Irish research who would better assist you for other locations.
Can I share my tree with you?
Yes, please! If you already have a tree built, this will save me from duplicating your work. It also gets me up to speed with your family so I can tell your John Smith from the next one.
Will you order records for me?
No. There is a lot online, but some records are only available through the National Archive, libraries or additional subscriptions. Every state has different access requirements and for some, I am restricted for being out of country. It will be faster to contact them directly.
