My internship at Veno Autobotics—a custom IoT solutions company in Kenya was nothing short of a great learning experience. I handled firmware development, circuit design, PCB design, hardware testing and assembly. I contributed to a couple of projects integrating technologies including LoRa, WiFi, LTE, NBIoT with protocols including MQTT and HTTPS. Sensor interfacing was also at the core of company product design. I learnt and contributed to sensor driver development working with sensors utilizing the UART and I2C communication protocols. Electronics design was an aspect I really got to appreciate while at Veno Autobotics. Power supply design, sensor integration and IC selection. I also got to appreciate the development flow of PCB design. From schematic drawing to layout and routing to manufacturing files and BOM generation. I fully designed data loggers a product at its testing stage. My experience at Veno has improved me both in skillset and work ethic.
