My work in Labyrinthus Stellarum started in 2022. Since then, I’ve been involved in almost all aspects of the project. We are a small team with two core members, which means that responsibilities are not strictly separated — instead, they shift depending on what the projects needs. My roles include guitarist, mixing engineer, co-producer, and I’m also involved in management and content creation. In reality, this means that during writing phases, I work as a secondary songwriter, helping to develop and refine ideas, structure songs, and improve arrangements. I’m not the main songwriter or vocalist, but I actively contribute to shaping the material. I’m also closely involved in building the conceptual side of the project. While I don’t write lyrics often, I take part in developing the overall story and lore behind the music. Together with Alex Andronati, we work on making sure that the music fits into a consistent and evolving artistic direction. A big part of my work is on the technical side. I’m involved in recording and responsible for mixing, as well as many of the technical decisions in the studio. This includes preparing tracks for release, handling audio formats, and making sure everything sounds right across different platforms. I spend a lot of time working on details in the mix and making practical decisions that affect the final result. I believe that it is my main role in the project! In addition to the creative and technical work, I also contribute to the organizational side of the band. This includes planning releases, thinking about ways to grow the project. Overall, my experience in the band has been especially valuable for my work in mixing. Being involved in every stage of a project — from early ideas and songwriting to recording and final release — has helped me understand how each decision affects the final sound. Because of that, I don’t approach mixing as an isolated technical task, but as part of a bigger process.
