FAQ
What types of documents can the chatbot read?
PDFs, Word files, plain text, and Google Docs exports. If your documents are in a standard readable format, the chatbot can process them. Scanned PDFs without text layers need OCR first — I can help with that too.
Do I need to provide my own OpenAI API key?
Yes. I guide you through getting one and setting usage limits. For 100-500 daily queries, OpenAI costs $5-30/month depending on document size. If you want zero API costs, I can build a fully self-hosted open-source version using Llama 3 or Mistral, ask me.
Will the chatbot make up answers that aren't in my documents?
No. RAG systems only retrieve from what you provide. If the answer isn't in your documents, the chatbot will say so instead of guessing.
Can this be connected to Clio, Filevine, or our internal document system?
If your document system allows exports or API access, yes. Most case management platforms let you export files which we then feed into the chatbot's knowledge base.
Is this secure? Can opposing counsel access our data?
Your data is processed and stored only in your environment (your server or private cloud). Nothing is shared with third parties. I'll walk you through the architecture so your IT person can verify.
How many documents can it handle?
The Basic package handles up to 50 documents. Standard handles up to 200, and Premium is built for unlimited documents with proper indexing and chunking strategies.
