RaceTrac is a convenience retail and fuel company offering mobile and web experiences that support payments, loyalty, rewards, offers, account management, and personalized customer engagement. UX/UI work included creating wireframes, responsive web designs, high-fidelity mobile interfaces, prototypes, and design-system patterns aligned with RaceTrac’s digital strategy and brand standards. The role partnered closely with product owners, engineering teams, mobile developers, business stakeholders, and the DGX Director to manage requirements, refine user stories, support sprint planning, track delivery in Azure DevOps, and maintain visibility across UX initiatives. Design leadership included oversight of digital payment experiences across RaceTrac’s mobile and web applications, ensuring transaction flows remained clear, secure, and consistent with the broader account, loyalty, rewards, offers, and purchase ecosystem. Hands-on design work focused heavily on personalization, including tailored rewards, offers, content, and customer journeys based on loyalty activity, purchase behavior, location, preferences, and promotional eligibility. Additional responsibilities included maintaining and evolving the design system, supporting accessibility standards, reviewing component usage, contributing to user testing, and working directly with developers to preserve design fidelity during implementation. Conversational UX was also developed for a customer-facing chatbot, including dialogue flows, prompts, response logic, fallback states, error recovery, confirmations, and next-step guidance. AI tools were incorporated into the UX workflow to support ideation, research synthesis, content exploration, rapid prototyping, documentation, and production efficiency. GoStudio is an innovation lab within InComm Payments focused on exploring emerging technologies, next-generation commerce, and future-facing payment experiences. UX/UI and visual design work included proof-of-concept development, the GoStudio website redesign, mobile app concepts, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, pitch decks, white papers, infographics, branding systems, and presentation-ready design artifacts. Projects explored fintech-adjacent concepts across mobile payments, automated checkout, blockchain, augmented reality, virtual reality, and emerging retail technologies. One concept enabled customers to scan products while shopping and automatically charge their payment card when leaving the store. The role translated complex payment, retail, and emerging-technology ideas into intuitive interaction models and clear consumer experiences. Reusable interface patterns and components were developed to support consistency across multiple concepts and platforms. Additional responsibilities included creating and maintaining brand guidelines, style guides, visual assets, social media graphics, animations, Studio Mosaic content, and the looping video displayed on large monitors outside the studio. Collaboration included working with strategists, designers, stakeholders, and technical teams to explore, validate, and present next-generation commerce concepts. The role also included leading studio tours and communicating complex innovation work to internal and external audiences. Skills and tools included proprietary design, brand systems, fintech, motion graphics, Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects.
