I've always believed that good writing isn't about using bigger words or longer sentences. It's about making people feel something.
That's why I don't edit books just to catch typos. I ask questions readers will never ask out loud. Where does the story lose momentum? Which chapter feels rushed? Why doesn't this character feel believable? Is this paragraph saying too much or not enough?
