Working as an Assistant Engineer (Designer) at Absolute Design, providing remote design support to a New Zealand-based stainless steel design company. I assist in mechanical and stainless steel design using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, preparing and modifying 2D fabrication drawings and 3D models in line with international standards and client requirements. Key responsibilities: Prepare precise sheet metal flat patterns, folding details, and DXF files using K-factor and bend radius calculations for direct production use Create weldment structure drawings and shop-floor-ready 2D fabrication drawings for stainless steel components Convert client design concepts into accurate, manufacturable technical drawings within international engineering standards Work through a secured server-based workflow, maintaining professional documentation and version control practices Continuously improve technical accuracy and software proficiency while handling real production-level international projects Over 1+ year of consistent, production-level remote design experience, with a strong foundation in CNC machining and CAD/CAM built through hands-on industrial training (BMTF) and guest training experience at Tool & Technology Institute (TTI, BITAC).
