FAQ
Why do I need Consent Mode V2 on a Squarespace site?
Even if you only collect leads or bookings, Google requires every website interacting with EU users to handle consent properly. Without Consent Mode V2, Google Ads can’t measure conversions for users who reject cookies, reducing your campaign’s data accuracy and Smart Bidding effectiveness.
How is GA4 implemented on Squarespace?
Squarespace doesn’t natively support Google Tag Manager, so I install it using Code Injection in the site’s “Header” and “Footer” sections. This allows me to deploy a container that handles all GA4, Google Ads, and consent-based scripts while keeping your site lightweight and fast.
Can you track form submissions and bookings in GA4?
Yes. I track all native Squarespace forms, Acuity Scheduling bookings, newsletter sign-ups, and click-to-call actions. Each interaction is mapped as a form_submit, generate_lead, or begin_checkout event in GA4 and mirrored in Google Ads conversions.
Does this setup support Consent Mode V2 and GDPR banners?
Yes. I integrate Iubenda, Cookiebot, or OneTrust directly within the GTM container. When a user gives or denies consent, the dataLayer automatically updates the ad_storage and analytics_storage states so all tags behave accordingly. If you already use the native Squarespace cookie banner, I can exte
Can you implement Server-Side Tracking (sGTM)?
Yes — included in Standard and Premium packages. I configure a GTM Server container hosted via Stape.io or your chosen provider, improving data accuracy, bypassing ad blockers, and ensuring compliant conversion forwarding to Google Ads.
What kind of social pixel integrations do you offer?
For Premium clients, I include consent-aware pixel setups for Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok. These pixels will only fire once advertising consent is granted, keeping your remarketing active and compliant.
How do you validate that everything is working properly?
Once implemented, I perform full testing using GA4 DebugView, Tag Assistant, and test form submissions across desktop and mobile. I’ll verify consent signal propagation, event accuracy, and correct triggering of GA4/Ads conversions. You’ll receive a short Loom video walkthrough showing your setup in
What access do you need to complete the setup?
Access to your Squarespace admin panel, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, and Google Ads accounts. For server-side setups, temporary credentials for Stape or your GTM host are required. All data is handled securely and removed after delivery.
Can you fix my existing GA4 or Google Ads setup?
Yes. If you already have GA4 and Ads but see inaccurate or missing conversions, I’ll perform a full audit to clean up your tags and ensure consent alignment. I can also migrate your old Universal Analytics goals to GA4 as part of the project.
What deliverables will I receive?
At the end, you’ll get: - A GTM configuration summary showing all tags, triggers, and variables - A GA4 event map of tracked interactions - A Loom video walkthrough explaining validation and maintenance - Ongoing support (based on your selected plan)
