FAQ
Should I choose VBA or Apps Script for my automation?
Simple rule: VBA for Excel desktop on Windows, Apps Script for anything in Google Sheets or that must run in the cloud on a schedule. If your file needs to work on Mac or Excel web, I use Office Scripts instead of VBA. Tell me where your team opens the file and I will pick the right tool
My macro stopped working after an Office update. Can you repair it without rebuilding from scratch?
Usually yes. Most update breakage comes from deprecated references, changed object behavior, or security settings, not dead logic. I debug the existing code first and only rebuild what is broken. Send the file and the error message before ordering and I will confirm the fix scope in minutes.
Do you need full access to my Google account for Apps Script automation?
No. Editor access to the specific Sheet is enough for most builds. For Gmail or Drive automations, the script runs under YOUR account when you authorize it once, so I never hold your credentials. I can also deliver the script with setup instructions if you prefer to install it yourself.
Can the automation run on a schedule without me opening the file?
In Google Sheets, yes: Apps Script time-driven triggers run daily, hourly, or weekly in the cloud, even with the file closed. Desktop Excel VBA needs the file open, so for scheduled Excel jobs I set up Windows Task Scheduler or recommend moving that workflow to Sheets. I will advise what fits.
Will my data stay private? The file contains customer and financial information.
Yes work on your file directly with no copies kept after delivery, and can work from a sample file with dummy data if you prefer - I build on the sample, you run it on the real data. All code is delivered unlocked so you can verify exactly what it does.
What happens if the automation breaks a month after delivery?
If it breaks due to a bug in my code, I fix it free, no time limit. If it breaks because your file structure, columns, or a connected service changed, that is a quick paid revision - usually a small custom offer. Every delivery includes commented code and a walkthrough so small tweaks stay easy.
Can you connect my spreadsheet to other apps like Gmail, Google Forms, or my online store?
Yes. Native Google Workspace connections (Gmail, Forms, Drive, Calendar, Docs) are standard scope. External platforms like Shopify or a CRM are possible via CSV workflows in this gig; live API integrations are custom scope, so message me first for an accurate quote before ordering.
