This position is a Graduate Teaching Assistantship tied to my Masters degree where I am learning the skills needed to teach in a higher education institution. My primary responsibilities include but are not limited to managing the University Wind Ensemble (assigning and printing parts, leading sectionals, designing equipment setup), Teaching and managing the University Marching Band Drumline, redesigning and maintaining the equipment inventory system, and collaborating with faculty and staff to assist with group trips and events.

During my time in this position, I worked with my cooperating teacher assigned to me through the University of Oregon to gain real-world experience teaching in a public middle school. Some of my responsibilities included printing copies of sheet music, finding and selecting repertoire, teaching select classes, leading students during class field trips, and covering parts for absent students in downtime.

This job was a pit orchestra job for the Eugene Ballet in Eugene, Oregon through an organization called OrchestraNEXT during this time, I was called to perform in the ballet “Carmen” and was listed on the sublist for other productions such as “The Nutcracker” and “The Toni’s”.
