Hmm... is this gig for me?
If you have at least a basic mastery of a pitched instrument and sight reading on stave notation, interested in writing your own music, or just hungry for musical knowledge (especially on harmony), then this gig is for you. However, if you don't read music at all, I'm afraid it might be a bit hard.
How will the lessons be conducted?
Conducted via Zoom/Skype, the lessons (90 min per session) involve me presenting and explaining prepared materials. For the most part, I'll illustrate my points using a notation software, and conduct case studies to provide a comprehensive and immersive learning experience.
What materials will be given?
Notes and exercise sheets will be provided and used in tandem with the lessons.
Can I ask targetted/specific questions and get you to answer them?
Yes, you can! This is exactly what the "à la carte" package does - choose up to 3 topics (anything related to music) that you need clarifications on, and I'll prepare the lessons and materials accordingly.
Do I need to prepare anything before hand?
Yes! Definitely get a notation software (e.g. MuseScore) installed on your device prior to the lessons, as you'll need it for a "hands-on" experience. Additionally, a pitched (preferably polyphonic) instrument may be helpful for the learning process, but not compulsory.
