I started as an apprentice electrician. I was a service technician for 2 years wiring houses and diagnosing electrical issues in homeowners houses. I moved to working in the warehouse where I did intake orders, unloading, order pickup/delivery and inventory logistics for 2 years. During my time in the warehouse I also problem solved and improved many systems to be more efficient. I then was moved into an office position where I was tasked with data input, IT, electronic operations and managing the implementation of a new digital filing system that the company wanted implemented. I also handled all communication between IES and software company regarding implementation and issues that we were having with the use of their software. After about 6 months working in the office I was then utilized further for my programming abilities because the software was not working as intended. It was at this time that I was tasked with designing and building a custom tailored software for the company that would handle digital filing, inventory and reporting. This is where I worked for the next 4 years of my career with IES Residential. A department was made for the program that I designed and built. I managed 4 programmers that worked directly for me. I took position as project manager and lead programmer. My department continued development and expansion of the software. I began traveling and consulting with other branches within the company to attain more ideas and further develop the software. My department also created training materials for the software and provided on-call IT support to other branches that began using the software.
