Native Japanese speaker based in Japan, translating between Japanese and English in both directions.
Websites, articles, business emails, contracts and manga. Every translation is done by hand, never machine output. I read the source properly first, then rewrite it so it reads naturally instead of word by word.
Working in both directions means I know where meaning gets lost between these two languages: omitted subjects, keigo, and tone that does not survive a literal translation.
