I've been a certified music educator for 10+ years, working with a wide range of ages and skills levels (from Montessori pre-schoolers to nursing home residents!), and I have taught everything from classical choral singing to Modern Band drums to rap songwriting. While I believe a foundation of basic Music Theory can help any musician grown in their skill level, I know that every student I work with is unique, and teaching Music in the same way to all students isn't the best way to help them grow. Therefore, I will work with you to understand your goals and personal music/learning style before diving into content to ensure that what I teach you feels relevant and meaningful to your practice.
I can provide sheet music, chord charts, or other materials to help you learn--all I ask is that you have stable Wi-Fi connection and a quiet location to work in (it can be difficult to teach music in a noisy environment).

I'm a singer-songwriter, composer, arranger, lyricist, topliner, and music educator based in Denver, CO. I have written and arranged songs across multiple genres and instrumentations, but my speciality is in pop, folk, and indie-rock. I have a background in classical music theory and choral music which makes me a great choice for anyone looking to combine technical proficiency in music composition with modern popular styles. Do I need to know how to read sheet music to book this gig?
Nope! Unless that's what you'd like me to teach you, I have plenty of other ways we can learn together, from the Nashville numbers system to color-coded music to simply learning by ear. I've got you no matter what you know about music.
What programs do you use for music recording?
I have used a wide range of programs and show how to do the basics on anything from GarageBand to Ableton, but in terms DAWs I mostly use Logic.
Can you give lessons internationally?
Absolutely! I just need to know your time zone before we book our first lesson so that I can make sure we are starting at the same time.
