I created Drum Easy and my visual GrooveCode system to help people start playing real drum beats quickly without relying on traditional notation from day one. Do I need to read drum notation?
No. Drum Easy uses my visual GrooveCode system, designed to help you start playing without traditional drum notation. If you decide to learn notation later, that's absolutely possible, but it isn't required to get started.
Is this suitable for complete beginners?
Yes. Drum Easy was designed with beginners in mind, whether you've never sat behind a drum kit or you're returning after a long break.
Is this suitable for children and adults?
Yes. Drum Easy is suitable for learners of all ages and has been successfully used with both children and adults.
Is GrooveCode only for beginners?
Not at all. While Drum Easy is designed to help beginners build strong foundations, GrooveCode can also help developing drummers improve timing, coordination and confidence through a simple, structured approach.
Is Drum Easy suitable for SEND learners?

What happens during the 15-minute introduction?

Do I need a full Drum Kit?
No. A drum kit is ideal, but many of the exercises can also be practised on a practice pad or other suitable surfaces while you build confidence.
Can I use an Electronic kit?
Absolutely! They're often the best choice at home, particularly if your neighbours aren't a fan of the noise - electronic kits are widely used with Drum Easy.
