Does everything run locally with no cloud?
Yes. Muse Glimmer, Ollama, OpenClaw, and Obsidian all run on your own machine. n8n can also be self-hosted. Nothing leaves your device unless you specifically configure an external sync.
What hardware do I need?
A PC or Mac Mini with 16GB+ RAM and a GPU with 8GB+ VRAM for best performance. Apple Silicon Mac Mini runs this stack well via Ollama's MLX engine. A VPS with 32GB RAM also works.
Can you connect this to tools I already use like Slack, Notion, or Google Workspace?
Yes, that is covered in the Premium package. I set up n8n workflows that sync your Obsidian vault with your existing business tools so your agent can pull from and push to them automatically.
What kind of workflows can n8n automate in this stack?
Examples include: auto-tagging new notes, creating tasks from meeting notes, filing documents into the right vault folders, sending Slack summaries of your daily notes, and triggering actions based on new content in your vault.
Do I need to already have Obsidian installed?
No. I set up everything from scratch including the Obsidian vault structure, plugins, and configuration. If you already have a vault, I can work with your existing structure.
What Obsidian plugins are included in the setup?
Core plugins configured include Dataview, Templater, Tasks, and the local REST API plugin that allows OpenClaw to read and write to your vault. Additional plugins are added based on your workflow needs.
Can the agent read PDFs and external documents, not just Obsidian notes?
Yes. The RAG pipeline in Standard and Premium covers external documents, PDFs, Word files, and text files, in addition to your Obsidian vault.
