Previously a student intern with the New England Environmental Finance Center, partnered with the Tourism and Hospitality/Food Studies program and non-profit environmental research organization Manomet, as part of a pollution prevention grant awarded from the U.S. EPA. As a focus for this internship/grant project, we address pollution prevention for the food and beverage industry, craft beer sector, and lodging industry. We have also paired with the Toxic Use Reduction Institute (TURI) to work on another grant that the EFC received from the EPA to work with breweries on using less-toxic cleaning and sanitizing chemicals. Specialized in the craft beer industry, and data analysis/data input vis a vis the National Brewers Association Sustainability Benchmarking Tool. Service-learning training with breweries on the brewing process with an internship, as well as food manufacturing businesses on addressing food waste with food studies courses.
