Delivered frontline casework for the UK’s Afghan Relocations Programme in Pakistan, a £30m+ in-country operation within a £5bn+ cross-government resettlement programme, while providing professional interpretation services in Pashto, Urdu, Punjabi, and English. Managed complex protection cases involving undocumented individuals navigating host government systems and legal constraints, ensuring accurate communication through expert multilingual interpretation and cultural mediation. Conducted face-to-face intake interviews, welfare assessments, and ongoing case support for at-risk individuals, facilitating clear and sensitive communication across language barriers. Served as an official Pashto Interpreter for the Defence Afghan Relocation and Resettlement (DARR) scheme and UK Ministry of Defence, supporting complex Afghan relocation and protection cases. Coordinated with host government authorities, including NADRA, and international organisations such as IOM, providing interpretation and translation support to resolve documentation and exit-related barriers. Coordinated delivery across a multi-supplier model covering medical and TB services, accommodation, transportation, translation, and interpretation services. Managed high-risk cases involving detention, deportation risk, and urgent safeguarding concerns, ensuring effective communication between stakeholders and vulnerable individuals in time-critical situations. Acted as the operational interface between policy teams, programme management, delivery partners, and beneficiaries, leveraging over 25 years of interpretation experience to support informed decision-making and successful programme outcomes. Recognised with a UK Civil Service Award in 2025 for outstanding contribution to the Afghan Relocations Programme, demonstrating excellence in frontline delivery, stakeholder engagement, and support to vulnerable individuals and families.
