I work as a Senior Accountant at an ICAEW-approved firm in the UK, where I manage a diverse portfolio of UK limited companies and sole traders across multiple industries. My core responsibilities cover the full cycle of year-end compliance from bookkeeping and bank reconciliation through to the preparation and filing of statutory annual accounts, Corporation Tax returns (CT600), and VAT returns with HMRC and Companies House. On a day-to-day basis I prepare financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and FRS 105/102 standards, ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations and Companies House requirements. I manage the preparation of management accounts including Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets, and provide clients with clear financial reporting to support business decision-making. I work extensively with cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Sage, and am experienced in app integrations such as Dext and Hubdoc for efficient data capture and reconciliation. I regularly liaise directly with HMRC on client matters including tax queries, payment plans, and correspondence. My role also involves supporting junior team members, reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance, and maintaining strong client relationships through clear and professional communication. Every engagement is handled to the professional standards required of an ICAEW-approved practice.
