What is a tech pack?
A tech pack is a set of technical documents used to communicate a product's specifications to a manufacturer. Depending on the package, it can include technical drawings, dimensions, material specifications, component information, callouts, BOMs, assembly details, and manufacturing notes.
What do I need to provide to get started?
Please provide your existing CAD files and as much information as you have about your product, such as sketches, photos, measurements, prototypes, reference images, materials, or manufacturer requirements. The more information you provide, the more accurately I can develop your documentation.
What is considered one technical drawing sheet?
A technical drawing sheet is one organized page containing related technical views, dimensions, annotations, and/or details. Multiple views of the same product may be placed on one sheet where appropriate, and the number of drawings included in tier quotes is approximate.
Do you specify materials?
Yes. Material information can be included when the required material specifications are provided or can be reasonably established from the project information. I will not establish material specifications that have not been determined.
Do you provide manufacturing instructions?
Standard and Premium packages include manufacturing notes and relevant construction/assembly information based on the available project information.
Do you provide engineering or certification?
I provide product design and manufacturing documentation, not certified engineering services, structural certification, safety certification, or regulatory approval. If your product requires professional engineering sign-off or certification, you should consult a qualified engineer or appropriat
Can you design the product as well as create the tech pack?
Yes, but product design and development is separate from basic tech pack creation. If your project needs concept development, extensive CAD modeling, form development, material research, prototyping, or multiple rounds of design changes, please contact me for a custom quote.
