I have been working as an accountant in the UAE for over 8 years now, and honestly it has been quite a journey. I have worked with more than 20 companies across different industries and every business taught me something new. Here is what I have been doing over the years: Handled VAT from day one when it was introduced in the UAE in 2018 — registration, quarterly filing, and full FTA compliance for both Mainland and JAFZA Free Zone companies Managed Corporate Tax registration and filing when it came into effect, making sure my clients were always ahead of deadlines Prepared Financial Statements including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow as per IFRS standards Set up and maintained Charts of Accounts for companies starting fresh or switching systems Handled complete bookkeeping for Real Estate, IT, Contracting and Trading companies Registered companies on WPS and managed monthly payroll processing Set up Zoho Books from scratch and also cleaned up messy accounts for businesses that needed a fresh start What I enjoy most is helping small business owners stop worrying about their numbers and focus on actually growing their business.
