I started in a hosting support queue in 2011, on the tickets nobody else wanted. The site is down, the backup is a week old, and whoever last touched the server has left. Then seven years running my own hosting company, where there was nobody else to catch a mistake. Five more running the technical side of another one. Since 2023 I have been inside the migration team of a large US host, where a thousand accounts move overnight and the window does not move. 5,000+ Linux servers. 10,000+ clients.
