Sobre mí
I’m Afo Ibra, a product designer working on everyday sunglasses to smart glasses with built-in technology. Few projects start with a sketch, others with a reference photo or an idea that hasn't been built before. I turn these into 3D designs, working through frame shape, hinges, temples and space needed for internal components. For smart glasses, that includes planning for cameras, microphones, speakers and batteries while keeping the design practical for prototyping. I focus on making designs that look right, fit together properly and provide a solid starting point for real world development.... Lee más

I work on eyewear designs, from custom sunglasses and optical frames to smart glasses that combine everyday wear with technology. My focus is on turning ideas into 3D models that give a clear picture of how a product will look, how its parts fit together, and what needs to be considered before building a physical prototype. Every project starts differently. Some clients have reference photos of a frame they want to recreate or improve, while others have a rough sketch or an idea they are trying to bring to life. I work through these starting points to develop the shape, proportions and structure of the eyewear, paying attention to details that affect both appearance and function. For smart glasses, the design work goes beyond the outer frame. Components such as cameras, microphones, speakers, batteries, wiring and small electronic boards need to be considered early. Their placement affects the available space inside the temples and frame, the overall thickness, weight distribution and how comfortably the glasses can be worn. I account for these requirements when developing the housing and planning how the different parts could fit together. I also work on practical details such as hinges, temple arms, lens seating, frame connections and component access. Where a project requires 3D printing, I prepare suitable CAD models and export files for prototyping. Depending on the project requirements, this may include STL files for printing, STEP files for CAD and manufacturing workflows, and supporting technical drawings. My approach is to pay attention to the small details that can make a difference when a design moves beyond a screen. A frame may look good in a render, but the parts still need to fit, electronics need adequate space, and the design must be considered in relation to its intended use and production method. I work with the aim of giving each project a solid starting point for review, testing and further development.
