Yes depending on the needs but with my other appropriate gig, it is preferable to fix definitively the choices in the renderings in this phase (materials, furniture, and style)
is it possible de make many variant of each space ? (materials, fournitures...etc)
Yes it is possible but you should know that each variant requires time, and additional work in texturing+rendering to have a final result to deliver, and therefore each version will be invoiced, for the extra time and effort invested
